I Mean....Who Doesn't Want To Go To Disney World!?!

Seriously Momma's!
Who wouldn't want to take a trip to Disney?

I 'm sure there are a couple of mommies out there that would raise their hands quickly. But this is one of those bucket list things that you have to do...and your children will thank you!

One thing I get asked a lot is how do you take your family to Disney World every year....and 3 to 4 times! I have to admit that owning at Disney and being a Disney Vacation Club Member makes it a bit easier to manage and head down when we want to. But staying at one of the amazing resorts Disney offers is the best way to go when vacationing there.

Now don't get me wrong...Disney's nightly rates at their resorts can be pretty steep! As soon as people look at the prices around times that they are able to take off...like the holidays, etc...you can see from $400 to $1000 a night! Many of us get intimidated to taking a trip to Disney World because they think it will break the bank and have us coming home eating Ramon Noodles for the next few weeks. But this is all a myth!

Going to Disney does not have to be that way. Repeat. Going to Disney does not have to be that way.

First, where to stay.

Disney offers different level resorts to fit every family's needs and budget. These are Disney Value, Moderate and Deluxe resorts. At times, Disney will offer very low rates around $77.00 a night at their Value Resorts during low season (Resort season chart below). So those that are on a budget...you are able to take your family to Disney. Low season is the perfect time to book your stay and have that extra wiggle room in your wallet to take care of everything else.

Now the reason I say it is best to stay on Disney property is because of the conveience of their transportation. If you don't need to go anywhere other than Disney you will not have to move your car to go anywhere. They have shuttle buses that go to all of their parks and spots to hang out such as Disney Springs and Boardwalk.

Once you have a place to rest after such awesomeness during the day at Disney all you have to worry about is traveling to get there and food. Soooo....

When it comes to my family we always drive. We used to live about 3 hours away but now it is around 7 hours away but we still drive because it is cheaper than flying 5 of us out there. And because we travel to Disney World no less than 3 times a year we decided to save on renting a van and just purchasing one. {Yes... we are owners of a Town & Country Touring} Not gone lie....I DID NOT...DID NOT want a van. But with three kids and the amount that we travel it was the logical and smart thing to purchase. Plus the million cup holders and DVD video overhead comes in handy on long road trips.

With a family of 5 it is a task to keep everyone's belly full at Disney, especially when we are walking and sweating in the parks all day. That makes everyone's metabolism skyrocket. So making sure you have snacks to take to the parks for everyone to munch on throughout the day is a good idea. And having food at the room is a must as well. To save, I start to stack up on snacks a few months before the trip. Snack such as goldfishes, fruit snacks, crackers, cookies, gogurrts...things like this are always good for these trips. I take bagels and cereal cups for us to eat breakfast in the morning at the resort most days, and on other days we may go and eat breakfast at the resort. But for the most part, eating in the room on what we bring saves ALOT of money!

Disney allows you to bring a specific size cooler, which is about 24"x 15", to bring in drinks and food. I like to make deli sandwiches to take along with little side snacks such as apple sauce or go-gurts with drinks to eat for lunch. Make sure you do this on most days.

Trust me you will thank me later!

Other days, one or two days out of a 6 day vacation, we will eat at the parks and dine out. One thing you do have to experience is the character dinners. Well, I say dinner but they have character breakfasts, lunches and dinners that you can choose from. We love Chef Mickey's at the Contemporary. We get to meet and hang out with all of the characters. It is a bit pricey so I do suggest saving up for this one specific dinner because you will not regret it.
